- Description
- The scope of work includes, but is not limited to the following: The project consists of the renovations and alterations of the exterior and interior of the main Station and the Vehicle Maintenance Facility (VMF). Some parking will also be modified. The renovations of the station include new men's and women's locker rooms and restrooms, new break room,new postal box lobby, new self service area, and new full service area. The work includes but is not necessarily limited to demolition, new partitions and wall finishes, floor finishes,ceilings, casework, lighting, signage, full service counters, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical. The exterior of the station will be renovated by removing the existing metal overhangs, adding a new entry vestibule, a new full height storefront system, protection of the front of the station by a series of bollards and a mall area, the existing exterior brick walls of the station will be cleaned, sealed and re-pointed, and extension of the carrier canopy. The exterior renovations of the VMF will include a new roof, removal of existing window system, removal of overhead doors, and new painted metal stud exterior wall construction at removed windows and doors. The interior renovations of the VMF will include adding one new overhead garage door and two new entry doors, removal of interior partitions, and new electrical power and lighting. There will be a pre-proposal meeting on Monday, August 28, 2006 at 8:00 AM to discuss the specifics of this project. Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly recommended. This is not a formal invitation for bid; therefore, no bid bond or proposal guarantee is required. All offerors are required to submit a completed qualification package along with a company safety and health plan, which will be part of the evaluation process. Since construction time will exceed sixty (60) days, the contracto will be bound by the Contractor's Security Screening Requirements. Solicitation packages may be purchased for $150.00/non-refundable by contacting the Architectural firm of PDG Architects at (713) 629-6100.
