Description

Furnish all plant, labor, equipment and materials and perform all work for removing between 200 cubic yards and 300 cubic yards of deteriorated concrete from the north lock chamber wall at Eisenhower Lock in Massena, New York, and replacing it with steel reinforced concrete. Deteriorated concrete shall be removed to a depth of between 12 inches and 30 inches. There is vertical steel wall armor embedded in the lock chamber walls in the work areas at 33 inches on center (i.e. approximately 25 inches between pieces of wall armor). This work is to be performed in the lock chamber approximately 50 feet down from the top of the lock wall and 50 feet up from the bottom of the lock over an area between 200 feet and 500 feet long. Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (Corporation) personnel will dewater and cover the lock and will provide a minimal amount of heat and light in the lock chamber. The work shall commence after Eisenhower Lock is closed for the season and Corporation personnel complete preparatory work at the lock which should be on or about January 8, 2007. Work in the lock chamber shall be completed by March 13, 2007. The cost range of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. There is a $60.00 US funds non-refundable fee for specifications and drawings. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) package will be issued approximately August 8, 2006 with a bid opening date on or about September 14, 2006. A contract shall be awarded on or about September 20, 2006. Mail your request for the IFB package along with the above fee to Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation, Attn: Contracting Office, PO Box 520, 180 Andrews Street, Massena, New York 13662. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation. This project is subject to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both small and large businesses. NAICS code 237990; Size standard $31.0M.
