Description

The Department of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate a sole source, follow-on, contract to TMA Net, Inc., with a base period of twelve months and four twelve month option periods under the authority of FAR 6.303-1 (41USC 253(c)(1)) to provide maintenance and security administration support on the NIST MANAKON System. Sole source determination is based on the need that the existing MANAKON system was designed by TMA Net, Inc. The MANAKON software is proprietary and only TMA Net, Inc. can perform the work without voiding the current maintenance agreement and incurring recertification charges. TMA Net, Inc. currently holds the contract for the maintenance agreement. The required software releases are proprietary and can only be obtained from TMA Net, Inc. and must interface with a multimode Siemens Hicom System and various PC?s accessing the equipment. This software and the interactions it controls cannot be maintained by any other source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Responses to this notice, if any, must show clear and convincing evidence that another vendor is authorized by TMA Net, Inc. to provide the required services. Inquires will only be accepted via email to sandra.shaffner@nist.gov. All information received by 12:00 p.m., EST, 10/23/06 will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government whether to compete this proposed acquisition will be based on responses to this notice; such determination is solely within the discretion of the Government. No telephone requests will be honored.
