Description

Provide all materials, labor, equipment, and transportation to repair and stabilize the classical Fresnel lens in use at Makapu'u and Diamond Head lighthouses. The work shall include but not be limited to repair, reset, and clean prisms, rehabilitate glazing putty and lens frame, level lens, focus and sight lamps, and dispose of lead containing materials. This will be a low price technically acceptable proposal. The contractor shall pave personnel who have hands-on experience maintaining, repairing, and stablizing classical Fresnel lens in operation in lighthouses located in the United States. Contractor shall provide written documentation including color photographs of successfully repaired and stabilized classifcal fresnel lens' which have been placed in active operation for at least one year after repair and stabilization. This procurement is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000. This office no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead they may be accessed at the following website: http://www.fbo.gov. Offerors should register to receive notification of this solicitation. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will be posted solely on this website. This solicitation can be downloaded from http://www.fbo.gov on/about October 30, 2006. If it does not appear on that day, please check back daily. The date set for receipt of offers is presently November 29, 2006. This date is estimated and may change. All responsible sources are encouraged to respond.
