Description
The GLAC (Great Lakes Acquisition Center) is soliciting quotations to provide the necessary equipment, labor, materials, parts, tools, travel, and supervision necessary to furnish and install a Steam Water Heater located at the VA Medical Center, 500 East Veterans Street, Tomah, WI 54660. All services and supplies shall be completed within 90 calendar days after receipt of Notice of Award. Contract type is firm-fixed price. This is a total 100% Service Disabled Veteran owned small business set-aide and offerors are reminded to complete all sections of the solicitation, including the Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items. Anticipated award effective date is on or before November 1, 2006. The solicitation and specifications will be issued and made available free of charge at the Department of Veterans Affairs Business Opportunities System (BOS) website: http://www.bos.oamm.va.gov. Interested parties may also access the solicitation and specifications on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Any amendments to this solicitation will also be available at the URL addresses. Offerors are advised that they are responsible for obtaining amendments. Requests for hard copy solicitation must be in writing to the GLAC Contact Point and accompanied by a check for $10.00 made out to the Department of Veterans Affairs. No telephone requests will be accepted. Notice of Set-Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns (a) The proposed contract is 100% set aside for award to service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns. Offers or quotations from other than service-disabled veteran-owned small business concerns will not be considered and shall be rejected. (b) Definitions. As used in this provision: "Service-disabled veteran-owned small business concern"? (1) Means a small business concern (i) Not less than 51 percent of which is owned by one or more service-disabled veterans or, in the case of any publicly owned business, not less than 51 percent of the stock of which is owned by one or more service-disabled veterans; and (ii) The management and daily business operations of which are controlled by one or more service-disabled veterans or, in the case of a veteran with permanent and severe disability, the spouse or permanent caregiver of such veteran. (2) Service-disabled veteran means a veteran, as defined in 38 U.S.C. 101(2), with a disability that is service-connected, as defined in 38 U.S.C. 101(16).
