Description

The Great Lakes Science Center in Ann Arbor Michigan has a requirement to dredge the port of Cheboygan Michigan where three (3) large vessels ranging in length from 65 feet to 103 feet are stationed. In recent years silt has been accumulating in the near shore areas of the channel, additionally, lake water levels have dropped significantly this year causing the large vessels to regularly run aground and/or get stuck in silt when docking at the base. All three vessels must be able to pull along closely to dockside as well as maneuver unobstructed by bottom silt when entering and exiting the dock area. THE SELECTED CONTRACTOR WILL HAVE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF OBTAINING ALL REQUIRED PERMITS. The NAICS code is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction. The government anticipates an award under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. Quotes are due at 4:00pm EST on 10/10/06. The anticipated award date is 10/11/06. All responsible sources who have a valid Central Contractor Registration may submit a proposal.
