Description
Responses to this announcement are sought to investigate the feasibility and practicability of improving upon and demonstrating the M2C2 (Mobile Modular Command and Control) payload previously developed and demonstrated under BAA 04-001, FY 04 Long Range Navy and Marine Corps Science and Technology Program. It is the intent of this research effort to explore and investigate innovative concepts based on new and existing technologies that can be adapted and integrated into the M2C2 prototype to deliver leading edge capabilities that will allow ONR to help the Marine Corps further define its emerging C2 On-The-Move concept. The research objective includes achieving objective performance and capability parameters. The effort will also involve consideration and development of the technologies that will enhance the capabilities of the Combat Operations Center (COC) and Combined Army Marine Command and Control Vehicle (CAMC2V) programs. A mobile integration testbed will be implemented at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) at Kaneohe Bay, HI for demonstrating candidate technologies and for data gathering to support technology evaluation and assessment. This testbed will serve as a technology incubator for testing and demonstrating novel approaches and innovative application of technologies to ultimately provide an enhanced M2C2 prototype. There are two existing Phase I prototypes, one of which will be available as a technology integration testbed at MCBH Kaneohe Bay. It is the intent of the Government to make award(s) in response to this BAA solicitation in two research areas: (1) Prototype Integration, Technology Insertion and Demonstration and (2) Enabling Technology Development.
