- The U.S. Coast Guard is setting aside this acquisition for Total Small Business Set Aside concerns. The Coast Guard intends to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The NAICS Code is 336611. The acquisition is for drydock repairs to the USCGC MANOWAR (WPB-87330), at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 42 days with a start date on or about February 5, 2007. The homeport of the vessel is One Ferry Road, Galveston, Texas. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about November 1, 2006 at http://www.fbo.gov/. The scope of the acquisition is to provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform drydock repairs to the USCGC MANOWAR (WPB-87330) patrol boat including but not limited to the following Base and Option items: Welding Repairs; Clean and Inspect Fuel and Waste Oil Tanks; Clean Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tanks; Realign Main Engine/Reduction Gear; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts; Straighten Shaft; Repair Shaft; Inspect Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings; Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propellers; Perform Minor Repair and Recondition of Propeller; Preserve Transducer Hull Rings; Overhaul and Renew Valves; Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies; Preserve Forward Peak Compartment; Preserve RHIB Wet Notch Deck and Stern Door Interior Surfaces, Preserve Underwater Body; Preserve Freeboard; Renew Cathodic Protection System; Provide Temporary Logistics; Inspect Transducer Fairing; Routine Drydocking; Inspect and Renew Hull Plating; Renew Watertight Hatch Frames; and Renew Main Diesel Engine Exhaust Concentric Rings The simplified acquisition will be issued as a best value Request for Quotes (RFQ). Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings is available free of charge to contractors upon request not later than three (3) days from the solicitation issuance. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings.
