- On or about 27 OCT 2006, this office will issue Request for Proposals for design and] construction of the SOF SUPPORT BATTALION COMPLEX and OTHER VARIOUS FACILITIES, COMPANY OPS FACILITY at FORT CARSON, COLORADO. The solicitation will close on or ab out 30 NOV 2006. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED AND OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. A tentative site visit date has been scheduled for 2 NOV 2006. Provisions in the solicitation documents will provide detailed information (meeting place, time, points of contact, and access requirements). See Obtaining Solicitation Documents below. Project Description: This is a Design-Build Project. The work consists of design and construction of a Company Operations Facility at Fort Carson, Colorado, including company administrative areas, operational work areas, unit storage, individual equipment storage, arms room, and latrines with showers. The other various Storage facilities include a Bulk Oil Storage, Supply Support Activity and Medical Warehouse, Hazmat Storage, and Covered Storage Area. Also included will be the Vehicle Maintenance Shop, which includes space for vehicle maintenance and a bridge crane for both level 1 and level 2 operations. Antiterrorism/force protection features will be provided to include laminated glass in windows, access control system, intrusion detection systems, and mass notification s ystems. Supporting facilities shall include utilities, electrical service, pavement, sidewalks, curb and gutters, storm drainage, fencing, and information systems. Comprehensive interior design is required. The estimated design and construction cost of this project is between $20,000,000 and $30,000,000. Obtaining Solicitation Documents: This office will no longer send copies via paper or CDS of amendments and solicitations to interested parties.
