Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a small business firm to furnish all labor, material and services, including hoses (100 feet minimum) and fittings, trucks/barges, tugboats, line han dlers, required to remove the dispose of the material contained in the Aft Peak Tank, utilizing a portable pump. All work shall be done in accordance with the scope of work provide within the RFQ. The material in the Aft Peak tank is a mixture of lubrica ting oil, fuel oil, hydraulic fluid, brackish (river/sea) water, oily water, emulsified oil, slop oil and sludge. The Aft Peak tank has a 33,000 gallon capacity. The contents of the material in the Aft Peak Tank shall be disposed of by the contractor in compliance with all current Environmental Protection Agency rules and regulations, as well as all applicable State and City/Local rules and regulations. All work shall be performed when the Dredge McFarland is docked at Fort Mifflin, Philadelphia, PA duri ng the lay period between 20 October 2006 through 31 October 06. A Request for Quote shall be issued on Monday, 16 October 2006 and will be advertised on FedTeds for a limited period of 3 calendar days. Quotes are due back no later than Wednesday, 18 Oct ober 2006 at 4:30pm. The acquisition will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13. Contractors must register on the Internet and download the solicitation package and all amendments from the following address: https://www .fedteds.gov on or after the issue date of the solicitation. Quotes can be mailed to Department of the Army US Army Corps of Engineers District, Contracting Division, 100 Penn Square East, Philadelphia, PA 19107. Attn: Karyn Johnson. If any information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause a delay in receiving notice of the solicitation or any amendments. All contractors are required to be registered in the DOD Central Contract Register (CCR) before award as required by DFARS 204.7300.
