- USDA, Forest Service, Hoosier National Forest, Bedford, Indiana has a requirement to perform a Heritage Resource Survey of the Buzzard Roost Restoration Project within the Tell City Ranger District of the Hoosier National Forest. The project area is located in Crawford and Perry Counties in southern Indiana. The objectives of the project shall be: (1) to locate and identify all heritage resources judged to be at least 50 years old (2) to provide a complete heritage resource inventory of the area, and (3) to make a preliminary evaluation of the significance of identified historic properties according to the National Register of Historic Places eligibility criteria. To accomplish these objectives, the Contractor shall review existing sources of information on cultural and natural resources in the project area, conduct a complete coverage field reconnaissance, analyze the results of this investigation, and prepare a heritage resource report documenting this information. Project location: The project is located in southern Indiana in Crawford and Perry Counties. It is located between Interstate 64 and the Ohio River and between the towns of Oriole and Fredonia. Project areas are generally accessible by road. All work is to comply with local, Federal and State requirements. Valuation factors for award include (1) Understanding, appropriateness, and soundness of accomplishing the work including understanding of objectives, demonstrated familiarity with forest area and resource base, thoroughness and appropriateness of approach and methods, and reasonableness of level of effort. (2) Qualifications and experience of Principal Investigator and project team including academic qualifications, experience relevant to assigned responsibilities, and interdisciplinary expertise. (3) Experience in related work such as previous cultural resource management activities in or near the project area. (4) Organizational capabilities including available support staff and facilities, provisions for temporary curatorial requirements, and demonstrated project management capabilities. The solicitation will be issued seeking full and open competition. The requirement will be awarded as a fixed price contract, a single award is anticipated. Solicitation number: AG-52B1-S-07-72166.
