Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District is seeking potential sources for a self-elevating, self-propelled drill platform for conducting inshore and offshore water-borne drilling. The drill barge must be capable of transiting to all work sites along the U.S. Eastern Coast and Florida Gulf Coast. The barge will be used to perform Geotechnical Investigations using a Government-provided drill crew. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 443 2 and North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 483113. The size standard for this NAICS is $25.5 million. No solicitation is currently available. Specific requirements are as follows: 1) Self-elevating with at least a 2 man crew; 2) Must be able to work around the clock; 3) Mobilize within two weeks of notification; 4) Enclosed area for drilling crew to rest and for standby time during transit and enclosed work area adequate for storage of drill tools, supplies, and samples; 5) Suf ficient length and width to provide adequate deck space to support drilling operations and stating of drilling tools. 6) Self-propelled with 8 to 10 knot capacity; 7) Differential (RTK) GPS locating equipment accurate to a few centimeters horizontally and vertically; 8) Equipped with a drill rig capable of drilling to 1,000 foot depth; 9) Berthing area and galley is required; 10) Adequate lighting to allow around the clock drilling is required; 11) Work in water depths Up to 55 feet and on all bottom type s (soft and hard) and capable of working 15 miles off shore; 12) Include a safe system for boarding and disembarking crew during offshore shift changes; and 13) Meet all applicable USCG and USACE safety requirements.
