- Description
- The Broad Area Maritime Surveillance (BAMS) Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) program office is announcing a briefing and tour of the Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing Eleven's Tactical Support Center (TSC) located at NAS Jacksonville, Florida to interested potential offerors. The briefing and tour are classified at the SECRET level and will be held on Thursday the 26th of October. The session will begin at 9:00 am and last approximately three hours. The briefing and tour are limited to maximum capacity of 30 persons, therefore attendance is limited to no more than two individuals from each company. The tour is intended to provide insight into the Navy's current operational structure and how the BAMS UAS will augment Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Forces in the future. BAMS UAS will provide a persistent maritime Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) data collection and dissemination capability to the fleet. The BAMS UAS will deliver capability enabling the Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Force (MPRF) to meet the Navy's maritime ISR requirements. BAMS UAS full operational capability will provide for up to five simultaneous orbits worldwide. Initial Operational Capability (IOC) for the BAMS UAS is defined as one base unit with sufficient assets, technical data, training systems, and enough spares and support equipment to operationally support one persistent ISR orbit and is planned for FY14. At IOC, the BAMS UAS missions will include, but are not limited to, maritime surveillance, collection of enemy order of battle information, battle damage assessment, port surveillance, communication relay, and support of the following missions - maritime interdiction, surface warfare, battlespace management, and targeting for maritime and littoral strike missions. Interested parties need to contact Ms. Clare Carmack via email: clare.carmack@navy.mil with a copy to IS1 Pamela Howard, email pamala.howard1@navy.mil and Mr. Thomas Kennedy email: thomas.kennedy@navy.mil to schedule attendance. Security clearance data must be provided to IS1 Pamela Howard, via FAX (904) 542-4056 or 4057, by 19 October 2006, to allow for processing time for both base and TSC facility access. Your request must include a point of contact and a telephone number. Failure to provide the necessary security request information within the above timeline will result in attendance cancellation. No cell phones or other electronic devices will be allowed in the TSC facility. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. THIS SPECIAL NOTICE IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT, NOR WILL THE GOVERNMENT PAY FOR ANY INFORMATION SOLICITED OR PROVIDED. Questions or comments may be addressed to Ms. Clare Carmack at (301) 757-5919, email clare.carmack@navy.mil and Mr. Michael McLoughlin at (301) 757-5898, email michael.mcloughlin@navy.mil.
