- Description
- The National Science Foundation (NSF), Division of Science Resources Statistics (SRS), intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a 1-year, fixed labor rate Time and Materials (T&M) contract with 4 option years for editing and publication services, to include composition and graphics. BACKGROUND: The National Science Foundation (NSF), Division of Science Resources Statistics (SRS), fulfills the legislative mandate of the National Science Foundation Act to provide a central clearinghouse for the collection, interpretation, and analysis of data on scientific and engineering resources, and to provide a source of information for policy formulation by other agencies of the federal government. To carry out this mandate, SRS designs, supports, and directs periodic surveys as well as a variety of other data collections and research projects. These activities yield the materials for SRS staff to compile and analyze quantitative information about domestic and international resources devoted to science, engineering, and technology. To disseminate this information, SRS produces approximately 20?30 publications per year. SRS requires editing and publication services to produce its reports. Examples of SRS publications are available online in PDF format at http://www.nsf.gov/statistics/; printed copies may be ordered online at http://www.nsf.gov/publications/orderpub.jsp. Offerors are strongly encouraged to view several examples of SRS recent publications before submitting a response to this Request for Proposals. SRS produces approximately 10?15 printed publications per year. These publications include short, data-release reports (InfoBriefs) and in-depth analytical reports (Special Reports). SRS also produces approximately 10?15 electronic-only products per year, primarily Detailed Statistical Tables reports (DSTs). The applicable NAICS code is 511120, and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This is an unrestricted acquisition. The synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government or as a Request for Proposals. Oral Communications and facsimile responses are not authorized. All questions must be submitted electronically to the NSF, Attn: Garett Nelson, Contract Specialist, Division of Acquisition and Cooperative Support, at gnelson@nsf.gov . An ombudsman has been appointed to help resolve any prospective offerors? non-routine matters or concerns not sufficiently addressed by the Contracting Officer. Additional information concerning the Ombudsman program, including contract information, may be found at http://www.nsf.gov/bfa/dcca/ombud.jsp.
