Description

The Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Vecna Technologies, Inc., 5004 Lehigh Rd. B., College Park, MD 20740 under the authority of FAR 6.302. This acquisition will be accomplished using commercial item procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 541511 and the business size standard is $23M. The contractor will provide veteran scanning kiosks within VISN 5 medical centers. This includes software, hardware, configurations, equipment and upgrades. The VECNA software interfaces with the VA Vista system. It comes equipped with a flexible bi-directional interface engine to facilitate data exchange between the vKiosk appliances, Vista host with MUMPS-based hospital information systems, and other components such as XML, HL7, RPC Broker and CPRS. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive offers. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, interested parties have until 4:00 PM local time, November 3, 2006 to submit, in writing, their interest, qualifications/capabilities, and literature, detailing how their product/software/services will meet VA requirements to the contracting office or by fax 304-264-3997. A determination by the Government not to conduct a competitive procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no responses are received, the VA will proceed with the sole source procurement.
