Description
The University of California, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory is seeking sources for the design and fabrication of a tritium processing system. The Tritium Processing System (TPS) will be an integral portion of a radiation management infrastructure required to support the National Ignition Campaign. The TPS will be configured to recover tritium from building operations at a rate of approximately 500scfm. Principal components of the TPS include: process plumbing, process controls and alarms, abort tank system and support frame, ventilated enclosure, and project documentation. The TPS will use a well established tritium recovery process, involving tritium oxidation, with the resultant water collected on molecular sieve beds. The molecular sieve beds will be removable for off site disposal or reprocessing of the molecular sieve media. A built in regeneration loop for the molecular sieve is not part of this scope. The process plumbing skids will be configured such that they can be brought to the installation site via a freight elevator. The process plumbing skids will be housed within a ventilated indoor enclosure with appropriate feed-throughs for plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems. The design will consider OSHA noise standards. To optimize the use of space at LLNL, the abort tanks will be located above the TPS enclosure on a structural steel support frame. Experience designing and fabricating systems in accordance with the criteria of 10 CFR 830.122 Quality Assurance Criteria is essential. Interested contractors should submit detailed information on their qualifications and capabilities via email to Nathan Ancheta, at ancheta3@llnl.gov.
