Description
ANNOUNCEMENT TO FEDBIZOPPS Presolicitation Notice Rigging Service for Engines and Marine Gears The U.S. Geological Survey, Great Lakes Science Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan has a requirement for rigging service to remove two Cummins diesel engines, N-855-M, and marine gear from the R/V Kaho and transport to the Cummins dealer in Syracuse, NY. The work requirement are as follows: work is for the removal of the existing main engines (3000 pounds each) and marine gears (500 pounds each) from the vessel engine room and the replacement of the rebuilt engines (3000 pounds each) and marine gears (500 pounds each) back into the original position in the engine room. The main engines and marine gears are to be removed from the boat through the engine room water tight door of 26.5 inches by 69 inches that will be cut out by ship crew if required for the removal. There is a 6 foot by 6 foot hatch in the main deck through which the main engines can be raised and lowered to and from a space immediately behind the engine room. There is 6.5 feet clearance above the hatch. A sorting table overhangs the forward 2 feet of the hatch. The main engines are 29 inches wide by 45 inches high by 57 inches long. The marine gears are 18 inches long by 27 inches high by 19 inches wide. Both have attached lifting points. The main engines are to be delivered to a repair facility within 50 miles of Oswego, NY and returned to Oswego, NY after being rebuilt. This award will be made competitively under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $100,000.00 The NAICS code is 238290. Responses are due by 11/02/2006. The anticipated award date is 11/03/2006.
