CR systems shall have the necessary sensitivity and resolution to replace film-based x-ray techniques for aircraft structural inspections. The system shall have the ability to transmit, evaluate, and store images electronically along with dose reduction to minimize radiation exposure of operating personnel. The objectives are to procure a complete CR system employing state of the art scratch resistant, reusable Imaging Plates (IP) as the collection media for radiographic data. The purpose is for Nondestructive Inspection, consistent with the current x-ray techniques in NAVAIR 01-1A-16 Technical Manual.
