Description

This is a sole source solicitation for Tooling Technologies, which is a self-certified Small Disadvantaged Business. A J&A was completed for the DC Tooling and signed by the required personnel. DC Tooling will be furnished and installed in building 345, Engine Rebuild Section, to increase production of M903 engine rebuild from four each engines per day to eight engines per day, and in building 493, Rubber Products, to increase overall product quality and eliminate safety related injuries associated with the assembly of track shoe sections. The depot previously procured a similar tooling system from Tooling Technologies for the HMMWV Frame Rebuild Section, which was purchased through competitive acquisition procedures. Tooling Technologies offered t he only system to be deemed technically acceptable. Acquisition of additional tooling systems from Tooling Technologies assures broad compatibility of all tooling used for Depot production. The standardization will enhance equipment maintenance support b y reducing part inventory, eliminate different manufacturers replacement tools and streamline preventative maintenance programs. This procurement will eliminate unacceptable delays and enable the depot to meet the funded FY 07 requirements, thus enhancin g the national military defense readiness posture and increase support to the soldier.
