Description

This project provides for the Design-Bid-Build construction process of a Air Support Operations Squadron and Weather Facility, located at Fort Bliss, Texas. The facility will support the United States Air Force Transformation initiatives to co-locate Air Support Operations Squadron with their aligned Army units. The project includes, but is not limited to, constructing a 28,280 SF ASOS Building and 20,424 SW HMMWV Storage Area. The ASOS facility will have reinforced concrete foundations and a floor slab, brick masonry exterior, flat roof, site preparation, utilities, fire detection/protection, landscaping, parking and access road, and communications support. Force protection includes reinforced exterior walls and fully laminated windows. The magnitu de of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. A firm fixed price UNRESTRICTED contract is anticipated to be awarded using Best Value Evaluation criteria. The RFP solicitation, (W9126G-07-R-0004), is anticipated to be issued on or about 8 November 2006, and offers will be due on or about 8 December 2006. No public bid opening procedures are applicable to this solicitation. Anticipated award date is by Mid-January 07. The 2002 North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code app licable to this project is 236220. SIC is 1542. The Product Service Code is Y199. The Small Business Size Standard is $31 Million. Plans and specification will no t be provided in a hard paper copy format unless the Government determines that it is absolutely necessary. The Government reserves the right to use only the Internet as notification of any amendments to this solicitation.
