- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Point Mugu, CA, intends to award a contract, using other than full and open competition, to Meggitt Defence Systems Canada, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, through the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), to provide slow-speed, low-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) target services with a helicopter augmentation device including high diver variant and multiple operational deployment capabilility. Also to be provided is unmanned high-speed maneuvering surface vehicle (USV) target services utilizing common augmentation and tracking devices and common shared Global Positioning System navigation and control systems. This contract shall be for approximately twenty-five target deployments over a five year period. Meggitt Defence is the only contractor that possesses a unique Helicopter Radar Signature Simulator crucial to this program's success as well as having fully complied with all range safety operational requirements, frequency management requirements, and environmental impact and risk mitigation requirements.
