- Description
- The Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service is seeking qualified Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, 8(a) and/or North American Enterprise contracts to construct the Animal Holding Facility in Marshfield, Wisconsin. PROJECT SUMMARY: The Animal Holding Facility includes the construction of a 38,720 sq ft one-story heifer free stall barn as part of a dairy complex (Building I); the construction of a 18,624 sq ft one-story lactating cow free stall barn as part of a dairy complex (Building J); the construction of a 4,750 sq ft milking center with a 655 sq ft basement, a 624 sq ft nutrient collection area, a 1,611 sq ft nutrient collection area, milking parlor equipment and enclosed connecting corridors as part of a dairy complex (Building K); the construction of a waste management system including: solid-liquid separator, sand-manure separator, two treatment lagoons - approximately 1 1/2 acres, and mechanical scrape system over concrete slabs on grade in the heifer freestall barn (Building I) with separate collection basins for each quadrant of the barn for a total of four individual collection pits; the construction of a 1,976 sq ft one-story animal health facility as part of a dairy complex (Building F as alternate 1), a 33,000 sq ft 6" thick concrete feed pad (as alternate 2) and incidental related site work. The work pertaining to the Animal Holding Facility is located in Stratford, WI, north of the campus of the current Marshfield Agricultural Research Station in Marshfield, WI. Site work includes grading and all utilities. The magnitude of construction is between $5 to $10 million dollars. Prospective bidders must have full bonding capacity. The NAICS Code is 236220, with a size standard of $31 million. Qualified contractors interested in participating in the upcoming solicitation must provide their qualifications statement to the Contracting Officer. This statement shall include the following: 1) geographical locations (s) of major and satellite offices, 2) business size (large or small) and type 8(a) concerns, Native American Enterprise, HUBZone, small disadvantaged business, woman-owned, or service-disabled veteran-owned, veterans of the Vietnam era, and other eligible veterans, 3) identify Small Business Administration Certifications(s) 4) demonstrate experience with contracts of similar size and scope to this project, 5) demonstrate financial capabilities, and 6) demonstrate sufficient bonding capacity. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME. This request is extended only to identify sources. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this sources sought announcement or to otherwise pay for the information requested. The deadline to respond to this notice is December 1, 2006.
