- 5 EACH BORESCOPES WITH THE FOLLOWING SPECIFICATIONS: 1.1 General. The Kit shall be designed and built to the best commercial practice for the swing prism borescope kit. 1.2 Swing Prism Borescope Requirements. The scope to be provided shall have the following minimum requirements for this kit. 1.2.1 Diameter. The maximum borescope diameter shall be no larger than 6.3 mm for the swing prism borescope. 1.2.2 Working Length. The borescope shall have a minimum working length of 0.46 m. 1.2.3 Rotational Viewing. The borescope shall have the capability of a 360? rotational viewing. 1.2.4 Zoom. The borescope shall be supplied with a 2.0x zoom feature. 1.2.5 Field of Vision. The borescope shall have a right angle field of vision. 1.2.6 Field of View. The borescope shall have a minimum field of view of 40?. 1.2.7 Direction of View. The borescope shall be capable of having a direction of view from 50 to 110?. 1.2.8 Eyepiece. The borescope shall have an adjustable eyepiece. The eyepiece shall have a removable eye cup supplied with each kit. 1.3 High Intensity Light Source. The system may be supplied with a removable internal light source/processor not to exceed 12 lbs. The objective is an Internally integrated light source. 1.3.1 Regulator. The light source shall be supplied with a means to regulate the light intensity 1.3.2 Light Color Temperature. The light source lamp shall be capable of producing a true white light or corrected to true white-light of 5000 to 6500 K (color temperature) at tip.. 1.3.3 Lamp Life. The average lamp life shall be at least 300 hours. 1.3.4 Spare Lamp. The system shall be supplied with an extra spare lamp 1.4 Light Guide Cable. The light guide cable shall be 3.05m (10 ft) in length. 1.4.1 The light guide cable may be liquid filled cable for maximum brightness. 1.4.2 The exterior shall be stainless steel anti-kinking material for maximum durability. 1.4.3 The light guide cable shall be provided with entrance and exit adapters for all existing Air Force borescope equipment. 1.4.4 The light guide cable shall be capable of detaching from the borescope and/or light source. 1.5 Image Storage. The unit shall be capable of capturing and storing digital color images in standard Windows image format (jpeg, tiff, etc.) 1.5.1 The unit shall have the capability of storing of digital images with a minimum onboard storage capacity of 32Mb. 1.5.2 The unit shall have the capability of transferring the stored images via external storage media (compact flash card, USB flash drive, secure digital, smart media, etc.) 1.5.3 Miscellaneous Features (Optional Features). The system may be supplied with additional features, such as text messaging, video imaging (using windows AVI or Apple Quicktime formats), voice annotation, etc. 1.6 Video Imaging. The light source shall be capable of transferring video images through the light source to an external video system, i.e. monitor or video storage device. 1.7 Power Requirements. The system supplied shall be able to operate on 100 ? 120, 220 ? 240 VAC, 50, 60, and 400 Hz, as well as 11-32 VDC. 1.8 Surge Protection. The system supplied shall be equipped with surge protection to prevent against variations in power sources. 1.9 System Overall Weight. The maximum weight of the entire system shall not exceed 40 pounds. Any system that exceeds the weight of 25 pounds shall have the actual weight clearly marked on the case. 1.10 Probe Operating Temperature Requirements. 2.11.1 Minimum Operating Temperature. The minimum operating temperature of the insertion tube probe shall be -20? C or lower. 2.11.2 Maximum Operating Temperature. The maximum operating temperature of the insertion tube probe shall be +80? C or higher. 1.11 Fluid/Contaminate Resistance. The system insertion tube, control cable(s), and system case shall offer protection against water, jet fuel, engine oil, various other fluids found in and around the engine as well as foreign objects, i.e. dirt, dust, sand, etc found in hanger environments or in a storage environment. 1.12 Carrying/storage case. The carrying/storage case shall be a standard commercially available locking style case capable of withstanding moderate handling abuse. The carrying/storage case shall be capable of containing all components of this kit in separate cut-outs for each component. The carrying case shall be capable of storing the borescope, light source, light guide cable, spare lamp instruction manual(s), and related accessories. 1.13 Operation Manual. The contractor shall provide a commercial acceptable operation and maintenance manual.
