Description: Work involves excavation of a trench through soil and rock that will be up to 90 feet deep and 2000 feet long, and involve 700,000 cy of cut. The work will also involve furnishing large amounts of water to quench hot material if encountered and drilling monitoring boreholes to determine location of a cold line around the underground mine fire. Excavation will be done by 2 draglines working 20HRS/day and 7 days/week.
