Description
1.0 ABSTRACT 1.1 Provide for the replacement of the discharge valves for the #2 Cargo/Ballast Pump. 2.0 REFERENCES/ENCLOSURES 2.1 References 2.1.1 MSC Standard Item #60, ?Repairing Miscellaneous Valves?. 2.2 Enclosures 2.2.1 None. 3.0 ITEM LOCATION/DESCRIPTION/QUANTITY 3.1 Pump Room 3.2 One (1) each Newco Globe Valve, 12 inch, NSN 4820-01-321-2538 3.3 One (1) each NEWCO check Valve, 12 inch, NSN 4820-01-238-070 4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICE 4.1 None 5.0 NOTES: 5.1 Ensure that all systems are properly ?tagged-out?. 5.2 Ships force will perform all electrical disconnects and reconnects as necessary. 6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None Additional 7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED 7.1 Provide all labor and material to renew the valves listed in para 3.0. 7.2 Prior to delivery onboard, new valves shall be hydrostatically tested to 1 ? times the system working pressure. 7.2 Properly Tag-out pump with the assistance of ships force. 7.3 Ships force will disconnect all Limitorque Motor Operated drive units required. 7.4 Remove motor operator and set safely aside. 7.5 Remove existing No2 cargo/Ballast discharge globe and check valves. 7.6 If systems is to be left open and unattended for any reason, all pipe openings must be properly blanked. 7.7 In order to accommodate the Limitorque requirements, it may be necessary to transfer the existing Globe valve stem and bonnet assembly to the new body. 7.8 Install new valves using new 316 stainless fasteners and Garlock 350 (or better) gasket material. MSCFSC-REP shall be witness to all pipe alignments prior to tightening. 7.9 Install new insulation and lagging where required. 7.10 Work areas shall be maintained in a clean workmanlike manner. All dirt and debris shall be removed from the ship and properly disposed of at the end of each shift. 7.11 Prep, Prime and paint all new and disturbed areas to match surroundings. 8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: None additional.
