Description
The United States Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District has a need for licensed or certified waste disposal facility(ies) to permanently dispose of the following radioactive waste materials generated throughout the United States. The radioa ctive waste streams that may be disposed include NORM, TENORM (pre-1978 11e2 and other), 91B, 11(e)2, 11e(3)(A), 11e(3)(B), 11e(4), LLRW  Class A, LLRW  Class B, LLRW  Class C, Transuranics, Commingled (RCRA regulated and AEA non-regulated), Mixed Waste (RCRA and AEA regulated), Debris contaminated with the above, (rubble, small, and large component). This is not a solicitation or a request for pricing. The purpose of this notice is to identify potential sources that can provide disposal services that will include project management, reporting, inspections, equipment, and all other resources to provide permanent disposal of the above Radioactive waste materials. The potential capacity for a future contract for the services described above shall be larg e volume, and the contract mechanism is yet to be determined. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the work and services described is 562211. Potential sources are requested to submit a capability statement that addresses th e following Key areas: 1. LICENSES/PERMITS Potential sources must provide a copy of their NRC or agreement state radioactive waste license and /or any other applicable Federal, State and local operating permits authorizing disposal of above stated waste streams. 2. CAPABILITY Potential sources must provide information describing the following: a. Operational capacity of each disposal cell. b. Mode of acceptance transportation capabilities (rail, truck, etc.) and type of container and/or packaging re quirements. 3. BUSINESS SIZE Potential sources shall identify if they are a large, small, 8(a) program participants, HUB-zone certified, woman or veteran-owned businesses.
