- The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command, Atlantic intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for Dry Dock and repairs to the USCGC KICKAPOO (WLR-75406). The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about November 9, 2006. The RFQ will be issued via the Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPS) web page at www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the specification and solicitation will not be issued. A CD-ROM containing all applicable drawings will be sent via U.S. mail, if requested. Send all request via e-mail to Arlene.V.Woodley@uscg.mil. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. FEDBIZOPS also contains an option automatic notification service. The standard industrial classification code is 3732 and the NAICS is 336611. The homeport of the vessel is Vicksburg, MS. All work will be performed at the contractor?s facility. The performance period will be 3 days with a start date on or about November 20, 2006. The scope of the acquisition is for 1) dry docking; 2) remove, inspect and install new propellers; 3) perform minor repairs and reconditioning of propellers; 4) provide temporary logistics; 5) provide dining and lodging. Provide logistics to the vessel that are affected during dry docking; such as, protective deck covering material, storage, lights, power, telephones, toilets and showers. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. The geographic restriction is within 120 river miles up or down river from the cutter's homeport in Vicksburg, MS. If your firm is and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a quotation for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and phone numbers; and (c) past performance references with point of contact and phone numbers. At least two references are requested but more are desirable. Your response is required by November 3, 2006. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on Small Business Set-Aside or unrestricted. A decision on whether this will be pursued as Small Business Set-Aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on the FEDBIZOPS website at http://www.eps.gov .
