- The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), National Acquisitions Section in Washington, District of Columbia, intends to make a single award for the provision of Teleradiology Services for more than 190,000 inmates in more than 100 prisons (institutions) geographically dispersed throughout the contiguous United States, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. The BOP intends to procure these services from an established ?Turn-Key Teleradiology Services Provider (TSP)? capable of providing contractor-owned equipment for BOP use throughout the contract term. Contractor services will include the following: -- consultation and interpretation services on digital imagery performed at BOP facilities and sent to the TSP (Radiologist) -- teleradiology equipment (where needed), installation, and maintenance -- hardware and software for program services -- appropriately board certified and licensed radiologists -- consultation services through a single multi-specialty (e.g., MRI, fluoroscopy, mammography, CAT Scan, etc.) radiology source -- capability to interface with the BOP?s digital communications network -- capability to adhere to BOP?s security requirements -- provide 24 hours per day, 7 days per week access to TSP Radiologists -- provide initial and refresher training in the areas of direct digital radiology, clinical operations, mobile patient table, generator operation -- conduct comprehensive expert and peer reviews -- comprehensive technical support The anticipated contract type is an indefinite-delivery requirements-type contract with firm-fixed unit pricing. The contract period of performance shall consist of a Base Period and four 12-month option periods. The current total quantity of interpretations/reads throughout the entire Base Period and Option Periods is estimated to be 474,708. More detailed quantitative estimates will be provided at time of solicitation. The solicitation will be made available on or about November 15, 2006 and will be distributed through the General Services Administration's Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be provided by the Government. The FBO site provides downloading instructions. All future information regarding this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through the FBO site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. The anticipated date for receipt of proposals is on/or about January 17, 2007. Faith-based and community-based organizations can submit offers/bids/quotations equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered.
