Description
The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract, for the possession/retention of existing furniture and equipment, which has been apart of an existing capitated lease agreement, for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Community Based Outpatient Clinic, that has been contractor operated and staffed, by MedMark Services, Inc., of Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. Based upon the research conducted, the requirement is of an urgent and compelling nature, due to efforts to meet the scheduled transition date of December 1, 2006 for the conversion and transition of the facility from contractor operated/staffed, to a VA operated and staffed facility. MedMark Services, Inc. of Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois offers to the VA, a proposal to retain the attached list of furnishings and equipment, at a value substantially less than the projected cost, the VA would expect to incur, if otherwise procured from the commercial market place, to furnish equal items, alike items, or brand new items. Additionally, because the items are already in place, this avoids any need for shipping, assembly, or startup, thus, allowing for a seamless transition of the facilities operations and functionality. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 621111. To the best of our knowledge, this is the most practical and cost effective manner to meet the scheduled date and acquire the items necessary for the transitional process and operations of our soon to be VA operated and staffed, Community Based Outpatient Clinic, in Oak Lawn, Illinois. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within eight (8) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with MedMark Services, Inc., of Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
