- Description
- The U.S. Office of Program Management (PM) Close Combat Systems (CCS) is investigating the use of 40mm reloadable non-lethal training kits for the M1006. The 40mm reloadable non-lethal training kit consists of primed and loaded propulsion system, cartridge case, projectiles, and any associated hardware for assembly and fire. The systems investigated shall be functionally compatible with the standard issue M203, 40mm grenade launcher while attached to the M16A2 rifle, M4 or the M4A1 Carbine while meeting the following performance criteria: at a minimum, have 85% hit probability on an E-silhouette at 30 meters with a mean radius of impact points of a 12 shot grouping not to exceed 15 centimeters and 60% hit probability at 50 meters and have a minimum 95% functional reliability in any environmental conditions. All sighting and operating will be compared with the currently fielded M1006 Operator Instructions. The kits will also be subjected to an independent user evaluation to get soldier feedback on the ease of use and training applicability. This market survey is for information planning purposed only, does not constitute a Request for Proposal, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government.
