- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE AVAILABLE. THE GOVERNMENT CONTEMPLATES MAKING THIS PROCUREMENT A TOTAL SERVICE-DISABLED VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. This Request for Information (RFI) is issued solely for information and planning purposes; it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The Government WILL NOT PAY for any information received in response to this request for information nor will the Government compensate the respondent for any cost incurred in developing the information for the Government. Any request for copies of solicitations will not be addressed since this is a request for information, not a request for proposal. It is requested that information in response to this RFI be submitted NO LATER THAN November 24, 2006 to Mr. Michael R. Sommeling, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Code 25211B562, Highway 547, Lakehurst NJ 08733 or by email at michael.r.sommeling@navy.mil. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP. Any comments provided may or may not be included in a formal solicitation. The Government will not release any information marked with a proprietary legend received in response to this RFI to any firms, agencies or individuals outside the Government without written permission in accordance with the legend. Respondents may provide information on any currently available product that meets the Navy's requirements. NAVAIR Lakehurst is requesting information pertaining to (1) the services and materials required to manufacture, assemble, test, inspect, and produce the ADU-567/E Wing/Fin Guard Adapter, (P/N: 6SE01170-1), in accordance with Government furnished drawing package data list DL6SE01170; and (2) the services and materials as required to manufacture, assemble, test, inspect, and produce the ADU-514A/E Small Missile Adapter, (P/N: 1763AS700-2), in accordance with Government furnished drawing package data list DL1763AS700. The ADU-567/E Wing/Fin Guard Adapter, (P/N: 6SE01170-1), consists of a main tube weldment, tube extension, pivot tube, two guards, and retracable spring locking plungers. The purpose of the ADU-567/E Wing/Fin Guard Adapter, (P/N: 6SE01170-1), is to provide protection for SIDEWINDER AIM-9 wings and fins when attached to Small Missle Adaptor ADU-514A/E and ADU-514A/E assemblies during transporting and handling. The ADU-514A/E Small Missile Adapter, (P/N: 1763AS700-2), is as aluminum weldment which consists of lower and upper frames with support pads, two slide blocks, and a buckle and strap assemblies. The purpose of the the ADU-514A/E Small Missile Adapter, (P/N: 1763AS700-2), is to be used, in pairs, on a variety of weapon skids, transporters, and trailers to transport missles. Interested parties responding to this RFI are requested to provide commercial pamphlets, operating and maintenance manuals or any other documentation that would meet the requirements described above.
