Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to issue a Request for Proposal for Specialty Care Provider Network under the Healthcare Effectiveness through Resource Optimization (Project HERO) pilot program. Project HERO is a congressionally directed demonstration program to establish a care management approach to implement management systems and processes that focus on value and foster quality and patient safety to make contracted providers virtual, high-quality extensions of VA. The intent of the demonstration projects is to find better and more cost-effective ways to serve VA patients. Project HERO will target four Veteran Integrated System Networks (VISN?s) demonstration sites as follows: VISN 8 ? Florida and Southern Georgia; VISN 16 ? Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and portions of the states of Texas, Missouri, Alabama and Florida; VISN 20- Washington state, Oregon, most of the state of Idaho and one county each in Montana and California; VISN 23 ? Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and portions of northern Kansas, Missouri, western Illinois, Wisconsin and eastern Wyoming. NAICS: multiple NAICS Codes have been identified as follows: 621111 (Office of Physicians), 622110 (General Medical and Surgical Hospitals), 621511 (Medical Laboratories), 621512 (Diagnostic Imaging Centers) and 621491 (HMO Medical Centers). This sources sought is not a request for competitive proposals however; any small business firm that believes it can provide specialty network services similar to those described below may contact Victoria Johnson, Small Business Specialist, Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Small and Disadvantaged Utilization, 810 Vermont Avenue, NW, (00SB) Washington, DC 20420-0001, within seven (7) calendar days from the date of publication of this sources sought synopsis: (1) A small business specialty care provider network capable of providing inpatient and/or outpatient care services that maintains access to credentialed specialty care providers and specialized ancillary service providers at the best possible price; (2) Improves monitoring of services provided to patients; (3) Ensures the exchange of medical information between VA and contract providers that meets or exceeds VA standards; and (4) Provide clinical information required by VA physicians to include but, not limited to: consults with treatment plan, medical device information, clinical notes, and diagnostics results. Please indicate geographical areas covered by the small business provider. Any responses received to this sources sought will be examined as part of market research only; a determination by the Government to not set-aside the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
