Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Thermo Electron North America, LLC under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b) Soliciting From a Single Source, for the essential support plan for a NIST LTQ Linear Quadrupole Ion Trap Mass Spectrometer. This Essential Support Plan consists of unlimited on-site emergency visits with max 72-hour response; (1) scheduled preventative maintenance visits; priority technical support with a 2-hour response time; performance verified non-consumable repair parts; and software updates. If NIST identifies no other capable sources by November 15, 2006, NIST will issue a firm-fixed price purchase order on or about November 20, 2006 to Thermo Electron North America, LLC for a three year period. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government whether to compete this proposed requirement based upon response to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ).
