Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Weather Service (NWS), is in need of contractors that can provide janitorial services daily, 7 days a week at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) and Weather Service Forecast Office (WSFO) located at 11691 SW 17 Street, Miami, FL 33165. DESCRIPTION: Work must commence between the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and at a mutually agreed upon set time during weekends and holidays. The Government occupied space consists of approximately 20,000 net usable square feet. The space includes the following: Raised computer floors, carpeted areas, vinyl tile floor, and ceramic tile. Both the NHC and the WSFO are 24 hour, 7 day a week operations. The present building population is approximately 80 employees. The contractor will be responsible for providing Janitorial services daily, 7 days a week at the NHC/WSFO Miami, FL for the base period of January 1, 2007 through December 31, 2007 with two 12 month option periods. The contractor shall furnish all supplies, materials necessary for the performance of the work of this contract, including but not limited to: brooms, brushes, wiping, polishing, treated and untreated dusting cloths, wet mops, sweep mops, sponges, squeegees, paper towels, toilet tissue, hand soap, porcelain ware cleaner, plastic bag liners for sanitary napkin disposal receptacles and wastebaskets, liquid and powder detergents, glass cleaner, floor finish, floor stripper, metal polish, furniture polish, scouring powder, and any additional supplies as required. All necessary cleaning equipment, including but not limited to, waxing and polishing machines, industrial type vacuum cleaners (for carpets and floors), etc., needed for the performance of the work of this contract shall be furnished by the contractor. Electrical power will be furnished by NHC/WSFO at designated existing power outlets for the contractor?s use to operate such equipment as is necessary in the conduct of this work. Hot and cold water will also be made available as necessary for that purpose. Daily services include but are not limited to the following: 1) Sweep or dust mop all uncarpeted floor including hallways and foyers using chemically treated absorbent dusting tools, 2) Vacuum all carpeted floors using HEPA-filtered vacuum cleaner, 3) Wet mop both restroom floors with disinfectant solution, 4) Clean and scour sink and clean interior and exterior of all appliances in break room. All equipment, materials, and supplies shall be furnished by the Contractor (i.e., toilet paper, paper towels, liquid soap, trash can liners, garbage bags, deodorant cakes, and cleaning solutions of good commercial grade acceptable to the Government?s Representative. Any business classified as a small business capable of completing this project is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice. The NAICS code for this action is 561720. This service is being procured under the guidelines of FAR Part 12, Commercial Acquisition Procedures. The Central Region Acquisitions Division requires that all contractors doing business with the Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR).
