- Description
- The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, National Institutes of Health, is soliciting proposals for research and development of neural prostheses for the auditory system. The objective of this research is to develop techniques that employ intracochlear electrical stimulation and drug administration to support neural survival and function and improve the quality of auditory perception derived from a multichannel cochlear implant. Two five-year, cost-reimbursement type contracts are anticipated, with both awards made on or about 30 September 2007. The solicitation will be issued on or about 27 November 2006, and will be posted on this website. Interested parties are responsible for routinely checking this website for any amendments to the solicitation. Proposals will be due 20 February 2007.
