Description
The United States Coast Guard Maintenance & Logistics Command Pacific in Oakland, CA, proposes to contract for dockside maintenance of the Motor Turbine Union (MTU) Main Engine Operations W5 on various 87-foot patrol boats located in the Pacific. Work may be accomplished at any of the patrol boat homeports (Bellingham, WA; Bodega Bay, CA; Crescent City, CA; Eureka, CA; Everett, WA; Honolulu, HI; Marina del Rey, CA; Newport Beach, CA; Oxnard, CA; Port Angeles, WA; San Diego, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; and Yerba Buena Island, CA). This procurement will be 100% set aside for small business; only contractors who can provide a technical representative holding a MTU M2 certification for mechanical work and an E3 certification in RCS 5, MCS 5 Type 1, and ECS-UNI for electrical work and any work on the control console will be considered for award. The period of performance will commence not earlier than 18 April 2007 and will consist of a twelve-month base period, followed by up to four twelve-month option periods. Work may include, but is not limited to, the following: MTU Main Engine Perform Maintenance Operations W5, MTU Main Engine Piston and Cylinder Liner Renewal, and Renewal of MTU Main Engine Injection Pumps. On or about 04 December 2006, an Invitation for Bids (IFB) will be issued. The solicitation and specification package will be available via electronic means on the FEDBizOpps website at www.fbo.gov. In order to open and download the specifications, offerors must be registered at www.FedTeds.gov. Offerors are encouraged to register immediately as authorization to access the documents may take up to 48 hours from the time of registration. Drawings may be requested through FedTeds.
