Description
This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the information in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. PAPER COPIES OF THIS SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. This combined synopsis/solicitation shall be posted on both FEDBIZOPPS and NECO (http://www.neco.navy.mil/). The RFQ number is N00244-07-T-0195. This solicitation documents and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through FAC 2005-13 and DFARS Change Notice 20061109. It is the contractor?s responsibility to be familiar with the applicable clauses and provisions. The NAICS code is 541710 and the Small Business Standard is 500 employees. This is a Sole Source action with the Regents of Th e University Of California Graduate School Public Affairs Scripps Institution of Oceanography, La Jolla, CA,92093-0210. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, San Diego, Detachment Seal Beach requests responses from qualified sources capable of providing: CLIN 0001. Simple Tomographic Acoustic Receiver (STAR) Deck Support System, 1EA consisting of a rack-mountable UNIX (FreeBSD) operating system and web server. The deck unit will be capable of delivering external power GPS timing, Rubidium reference timing, communication and control signals for a Simple Tomographic Receiver (STAR) system originally developed by Scripps Institution. The STAR Deck box shall provide network connection using point-to-point protocol (PPP) at 57,600 baud when the STAR is not connected through an Ethernet port. Hardware will be used as an integeral part of the network and will be used for communication timing and navigation checks with the STAR oceanographic instruments. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within ten days after date of publicat ion of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
