- The USDA Forest Service, Region 5 (California) has a requirement for qualified firms to provide professional services for remote sensing, computer programming, GIS and cartographic positions, both on site and off site. Work is across national forests and private lands using state-of-the-art remote sensing and GIS techniques. There will be two distinct work items: Item 1 for on-site support (to be performed at the Government?s facility; Item 2 for off site support (to be performed at the contractor?s facility). Firms will be required to demonstrate a certain level of expertise and capability in areas such as: Experience & qualification of key personnel, Past performance, and Technical approach. For economical feasibility, in order to qualify for award, the contractor is required to maintain an office within the State of California or Reno, Nevada. Firms may partner or joint venture to meet this requirement. Award will be based greatest overall value to the Government, price and other factors considered. The Government anticipates award to more than one firm that can perform all Work Items. Work will be issued through individual orders that will be competed between successful firms and priced at the time of the order. This is not a request for proposal.
