Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. The Government does not intend to award a contract or any other type of agreement on the basis of this synopsis or to otherwise pay for the information solicited under this synopsis. This is NOT a request for proposal or an invitation for bid. The intent of this request for information is to obtain market research. Responses will not be considered as proposals nor will any award be made as a result of this synopsis. The 685th Armament Systems Squadron is requesting information regarding J-Series message transmission over UHF CNR networks. Of specific interest is J-series messages encapsulated IAW MIL STD 2045-47001 and transmitted via MIL STD 188-220 UHF protocols between dissimilar operational equipment combinations. If you have previously accomplished such an effort, we are interested in learning of your capability. Please describe equipment, test tools, and methodology used to demonstrate this capability. Include how J-series messages are generated (e.g generated from a graphical or tabular user interface). Usage of Network Enabled Weapon J-series messages not required. If you have not previously demonstrated this capability, address what resources would be required to demonstrate this capability at a Government facility. Include necessary communications equipment, test tools, methodology, and timelines. The goal is to verify that dissimilar communication equipment combinations can support full J-series interoperability up through the host layer delivery within the very near future. Clearly mark any proprietary information included in your submission. Limit your responses to three pages and a pertinent OV-like architecture drawing and identify J-series messages utilized. For questions, please contact: 685 ARSS, Attn. Kevin Sura, 102 W D Ave, Bldg 11, 3rd Floor, Eglin AFB, FL 32542; Kevin.sura@eglin.af.mil; 850-883-3256. Responses to this Request for Information should be sent to Grisselle Nusimow, Contracting Officer, at Grisselle.Nusimow@eglin.af.mil. Please respond no later than 3 December 2006.
