- Interior work at the Moisant (MSY) Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) located at the Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans, Louisiana SCOPE OF WORK: The work consists of replacement of carpet, ceiling tile, removal of wall paper materials from walls, and painting of walls, some laminate material replacement in two rest rooms of the base building. The base building facility is about 12,500 sq. ft but the work required in the base building is only about 7,500 sq. ft. and about 1,600 sq. ft in the tower facility. Work also involves cabinet/mechanical work in the Break Room (kitchen area) and some minor remodeling, relocation of walls, and some electrical work. All work is interior and to be done in an active facility coordination w/FAA contracting officer will be required and a Resident Engineer will be on site at all times. OPTION #1: To seal/stain tower and perform some caulking of exterior pre-cast walls of the tower shaft of the Moisant ATCT (Elevation at cab 180"-00") type of tower is Welton Beckett design. Designed in the 1988-1989 and built on 1992. Base building requires strictly seal/stain of pre-cast walls and size of building is about 160 ft long by 93'-00" wide. To be considered for award of this project the contractor must be currently registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database (website: www.ccr.gov). This notice is for information purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enable firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guarantee on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
