- Description US Army Corps of Engineers, Environmental Research Development Center (ERDC) is the lead organization responsible for acquiring services in support of the Digital Topographic Support System-High Volume Map Production Capabilities--(DTSS-HVMP). The DTSS pr ovide a 20' International Organization of Standardization (ISO) shelter, mounted on a five-tone M1000 series Family of Median Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) or a 900 series five ton Truck for computer-based hardcopy plotting systems which will provide a high vol ume map production to the Army's terrain analysis capabilities. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to determine if there are sources capable of satisfying the government's requirements. NO PROPOSALS are being requested or accepted under this RFI. Feedback addressing the clarity, feasibility, scope, and potential alternative means of meeting the government's requirement is sought. The anticipated North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for these requirements is 334119. The business size standard is 1,000 employees. Your response should identify your business size (large or small) in relation to this NAICS Code. ERDC is assessing the existence of sources and is requesting capabilities package from industry on the requir ements below. We are seeking for sources that are able to address their ability and/or approach. Interested Sources shall possess an in-depth understanding of the requirements listed below. Responses must be limited to no more than 10 pages and must addr ess the following specific areas: (1) The Digital Topographic Support System-High Volume Map Production (DTSS-HVMP) consists of large format, high speed (digital) printing hardware and software; high speed, roll paper cutter hardware; computer workstation and memory peripheral hardware; and communications equipment shock mounted/isolated in a 20 foot ISO shelter (20ft x 8ft x 8ft). (2) The shelter has Environmental Control Units (ECUs) and ducting (for heating and cooling), Gas Particulate Filter Units (G PFUs) (for filtering air-borne chemicals and biological agents from entering the shelter), Signal and Power Entry Panels, a fresh air fan, a black out curtain, cabinets and shelves, and interior lights. Shock skids are placed on the bottom of the shelter. (3) The shelter assembly is mounted on a standard US Army 5 ton vehicle (900 and 1000 series). (4) The Army intends to procure up to 30 of these DTSS-HVMP configurations. (5) It is anticipated that the quantities in the base procurement may be up to 6 u nits and the remaining additional units will be purchased in option quantities. (6) The contractor will be responsible for manufacturing the shelter assembly and equipment mounts, modifying the 900 and 1000 series trucks to accept the 20 foot ISO shelter, installing all hardware and software within the shelter (printers, cutters, equipment racks/mounts, ECUs, GPFUs, shelves, cabinets, etc), contractor equipment testing, Government First Article Test support, and Logistics Demonstration Support. (7) The co ntractor will also be responsible for updating and maintaining the existing Drawing Package, Technical Manuals (10 Operations Manual, 23 Maintenance Manual, and 20 Maintenance Repair Parts and Special Tools List and Software Users Manual), and Lesson Pla ns. (8) The design will be controlled by a Purchase Description and a Statement of Work. A drawing package of a previously acceptable design is available by request on CD-ROM or for down load from a FTP site. Interested Sources are encouraged to submit p roduct literature in response to this RFI. Any submission of such product literature or catalog cut sheets will be treated separate from, and will have no bearing on, any subsequent evaluation of proposals submitted in response to any resulting future for mal Request for Proposals (RFP).
