- Description
- This amendment is issued to provide answers/questions and is provided as amendment 0001 to the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation. The closing date has been extended until 12:00 PM MST, 04 December 2006. Q1. Refer to: 2.1, Required Characteristics and Performance; Input: paragraph f. Responds to 5ns to greater than 500 ns over TTL to + 15V range. What is the range of the pulse widths with these respective rise times? A1. 50-60 ns at high rates such as 10 MPPS to about 50 ms at low rates. Q2. Refer to: 2.1, Required Characteristics and Performance; Input: paragraph g. Repetition rate irregular (0) to 1 MPPS. Please confirm that pulses defined in f, above, at irregular intervals from long times between pulses, (0), to a maximum repetition rate of 1 mega pulses per second. A2. Confirmed. We may wait all day for a fire pulse or need to use the unit t o distribute clocking signals at 1 MPPS. In between these extremes are applications requiring rate of fire and velocimetry pulses in a range of 0.1 PPS to 60 PPS. Q3. Refer to: 2.2, Required Characteristics and Performance; Outputs: paragraph j. Delay between input and output rising edges 5 ns maximum. The selection of elements necessary to meet the isolation requirements on both input and output required introduce significant signal delays. While it may not be impossible, it will at least be expensive to meet this specification. Is there any flexibility in the input to output delay? A3. Yes, there is limited flexibility. Relaxing the delay/latency from 5 ns to up to about 50 ns will be acceptable for nearly all applications except usage in supplying clock pulses, particularl y at the desired 10 MPPS. Q4. Same paragraph: Is it correct that the delay specifications are measured from the input at the supplied equipment to the output source of the supplied equipment? A4. Yes, checked at the input and output BNC jacks. Q5. Refer to: 2.2, Required Characteristics and Performance; Outputs: paragraph d. Logic high 4 Volts minimum into 50 ohm load each channel. Is it the intension of this specification that each channel of the equipment provide full isolation between output channels and be capable of sourcing 80 ma of current to the load? Q5.Yes. Q6 Refer to: 2.2, Required Characteristics and Performance; Outputs: paragraph e. Logic high 0.8 Volts maximum. Does the equipment have to sink current from the load source while achieving full isolation and driving the loads? A6. The following answer is based on some interpretat ion. No, the equipment is not required (or desired) to sink any current provided by the load. It does need to drive the load and isolate the load from affecting any adjacent channels. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (27-NOV-2006); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
