- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate with VSoft Corporation, 6455 East Johns Crossing, Duluth, Georgia 30097 on a sole source basis for maintenance on software and hardware described below. This is to be done under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source. The maintenance period shall be for 12 months. The place of performance is the Mid Atlantic Program Center in Philadelphia, PA. SSA is currently using a remittance processing system that includes an integrated system of hardware (Scanner, servers, and workstations) that were configured into a network, and supported by multi-function software developed by V-Soft Corporation. The Vsoft CHEX Remittance Image system Software is the original COTS product, which has since been significantly customized by VSoft to meet the needs of SSA. VSoft is the only firm known capable of performing the software maintenance work being sought, because of their inherent knowledge of the customized software. Additionally, maintenance is needed on the following hardware: Unisys NDP 250 transport scanner, (QTY: 2). Only V-soft has indicated a willingness to provide the support for the hardware used by this system. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed price purchase order. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona-fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A solicitation is NOT available. Therefore, written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation related to this announcement will not be honored. No other source is known to the Government that is capable of supplying this maintenance to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information received.
