- This Request for Information is NOT a Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation on the basis of this RFI. Responses to this RFI are not offerors and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The Government will not pay for any information submitted as a response to this RFI. The Department of Homeland Security/US-VISIT Program Office (US-VISIT) is in the process of finalizing its requirements for an acquisition of ten print scanner slap capture devices. It is anticipated that US-VISIT will release a RFQ for this acquisition by December 20, 2006 through the NASA SEWP III Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC). The Government is contemplating one of two separate API approaches. Attachment 1 is Proposed CBP Tailoring of ISO/IEC 1979-1. Attachment 2 is an alternate CBP API. The results of the attached questionnaire (Attachment 3) will be used to assist the Government in making a determination as to which approach will best meet the Governments needs. The Government intends on releasing one approach with the RFQ. Also attached is a draft of the requirements (Attachment 4). Note: As part of this RFI, you are not responsible for responding to the questions in Section 2.0 of the draft requirements.
