Description
The Department of Veteran Affairs, Employee Education System (EES) intends to negotiate with Hyatt Regency Crystal City, 2799 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA, on a sole source basis for the acquisition of sleeping rooms and meeting space for the VA National Leadership Board/CMO/QMO meetings to be held February 20-23, 2007. Extensive market research was conducted in early November, and the Hyatt Regency Crystal City is the only hotel responding that it could accommodate these meetings. An estimated 55 participants will be attending the VA National Leadership Board, 30 CMO, and 30 QMO. EES will require approximately 150 sleeping room nights for the period February 20-23, 2007, at a rate of $239. Federal government per diem is not available during this time period. On February 20, 2007, two breakout rooms for 25-30 conference style needed; on February 21, 2007, general session room accommodating approximately 100 individuals (U-shape for 55 with 45 chairs around perimeter of room) plus 3 breakout rooms accommodating approximately 30 ppl each and 1 breakout room for 50 ppl; on February 22, 2007, general session room for 55 ppl (U-shape), 5 breakout rooms for approximately 30 ppl (U-shape or hollow square); and on February 23, 2007, 2 breakout rooms for approximately 25-30 each (conference style) will also be required. Light refreshments for morning and afternoon breaks may be required. No other source is available at any rate due to many conferences being held in the DC area. Any source submitting a written response to this synopsis shall include sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement and must be compliant with the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act (provide FEMA number) and the Americans with Disabilities Act. A SOLICITATION IS NOT AVAILABLE. Any written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation relating to this announcement will not be honored or acknowledged. A determination by EES not to compete this requirement based on any responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of EES. Any information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information received.
