- Request for Information INTRODUCTION Pursuant to FAR 5.201(e), Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) is releasing a Request for Information (RFI) to survey the commercial market for camera and monitor systems that can be installed on a High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) launcher to aid the driver?s visibility in the front, sides and rear view of the launcher. The HIMARS launcher is mounted on a Family of Medium Tactical Vehicle (FMTV) 5-ton truck. The visibility from the HIMARS launcher is adequate but once a Low Signature Armored Cab is mounted, visibility is severely restricted from all angles due to the fact that the front and side windows are reduced in order to provide a greater level of protection from ballistic threats. The program office ultimately intends to resolve the blind spot with a camera and monitor system that can be installed to provide the driver nearly 360? visibility during day and night operations from inside the vehicle. The results of this RFI will assist w ith the development of the technical requirements for the camera and monitor system.
