Description
Subject to final approval, the Bureau of the Public Debt, Administrative Resource Center intends to issue an order to The Madison, a Loews Hotel, for the Board Meetings of the Access Board. In accordance with Access Board policies, Board Meetings must be held at certain times during the year. There are four service periods for the required meetings. They will be: March 21 through March 14, 2007; May 30 through June 1, 2007; September 5 through September 7, 2007; and November 12 through November 14, 2007. The Access Board is a Federal Agency that develops and maintains accessibility requirements that entities with responsibilities under the American with Disabilities Act must meet. The Board, both because of its members some with disabilities and because it must set a perfect example, can only use hotel space, including individual rooms and meeting rooms that meet or exceed the Board's accessibility guidelines. Given the sensitivity of this issue, the Board will only use a hotel for meeting and rooms after the Boards staff has checked the hotel for accessibility compliance. After checking several hotels in the Washington, DC area for accessibility compliance and availability, Access Board staff concluded that The Madison is the only hotel available that meets the unique needs of the Access Board for their meeting and individual room service requirements for this meeting. Specifically, the hotel has meeting rooms of the size and with accessibility options needed by the Board and sleeping rooms available on the dates needed by the Board as mentioned above. The hotel has the required number of accessible rooms and most importantly, accessible rooms with roll-in showers. All sections of the hotel have been found to meet or exceed the Access Boards standards. The hotel is centrally located for the participants with great access for individuals with disabilities. Needs vary but include roll-in showers, hearing impaired, and guide dog services. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT IS AVAILABLE. Public Debt Administrative Resource Center will consider all affirmative responses received no later than Friday, December 15, 2006 by 2:00pm EST. Affirmative responses shall reference ABA-02010-07-MEET and shall be accompanied by sufficient documentation to clearly show the ability to provide the required services or functional equivalent at terms more advantageous to the Government. Requests for more information or a copy of the solicitation will not be considered affirmative responses. If no affirmative response is received that clearly demonstrates the ability to meet all requirements and that is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be issued to The Madison for these service
