Description
PRON BD7RCL04D2AX. A SURPLUS OF PARTS HAS BEEN CREATED AS A RESULT OF THE CH-47 INDUCTION ACTIVITIES THAT ARE ONGOING AT SUMMIT AVIATION. A NEED EXISTS TO SUPPLEMENT AND SUPPORT THE SUSTAINMENT ACTIVITIES OF THE CH-47D FLEET WHILE THE CH-47F FLEET IS BEING FIELDED. THEREFORE, A NEED EXISTS TO RECOVER SOME OF THESE SCRAP ITEMS AND TO MAKE THEM AVAILABLE AS SUPPLEMENTAL ITEMS USED TO COMPLIMENT THE SUPPLY SYSTEM FOR THE CH-47 FLEET. IN AN EFFORT TO RECOVER SOME OF THESE COMPONENTS, SUMMIT AVIATION HAS BEEN DETERMINED TO BE THE SOLE SOURCE FOR THE REMOVAL, CLEANING, INSPECTION, REPAIR AND SHIPPING OF CERTAIN ITEMS. REQUESTS FOR THESE SPARE PARTS SHALL BE MADE AS A RESULT OF AN UNFILLED REQUIREMENT FROM THE CUSTOMER ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS DUE TO LACK OF SUPPLY THROUGH THE NORMALLY ESTABLISHED SUPPLY SYSTEM. SUMMIT AVIATION, INC HAS BEEN PLACED ON CONTRACT THROUGH A BOEING PRIME CONTRACT TO BE USED AS THE INDUCTION SITE FOR CH-47D AIRCRAFT INTENDED TO BE RE-MANUFACTUR ED INTO CH-47F AIRCRAFT. THE FUSELAGE 41 SECTION, 43/46 SECTION, RAMP AND PYLON AND APPROXIMATELY 2,100 OTHER AIRCRAFT PARTS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED AS SCRAP (RC 1) UNDER THE CH-47 ?F? AND ?G? UPGRADE PROGRAM. UNDER THE TERMS OF THE CURRENT CONTRACT, THESE PARTS AND STRUCTURES ARE TO BE DISPOSED OF LOCALLY. ALL OFFERORS MUST MEET PREQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR AWARD. FIRMS THAT RECOGNIZE AND CAN OFFER THE REQUIRED SERVICE DESCRIBED ABOVE ARE ENCOURAGED TO IDENTIFY THEMSELVES. FIRMS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SEEK SOURCE APPROVAL IN ORDER TO COMPETE FOR FUTURE SOLICITATIONS BY ACCESSING THE WEBSITE WWW.REDSTONE.ARMY.MIL/CMO/ AND LOOKING UNDER SAR INFORMATION. ALL RESPONSIBLE SOURCES MAY SUBMIT AN OFFER WHICH SHALL BE CONSIDERED BY THE AGENCY. THE CLOSING DATE ANNOTATED IS AN ESTIMATED DATE AND MAY BE ADJUSTED DEPENDENT UPON THE DATE OF RELEASE FOR SOLICITATION, HOWEVER, SOLICITATION WILL NOT CLOSE PRIOR TO THE CLOSING DATE STATED ABOVE.
