Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Andrew W. Breidenbach Research Center, 26 W. Martin Luther King Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio, requires construction of a Centralized Glassware Preparation / Site Preparation Facility. The General Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, tools, equipment, hardware, and documentation necessary to complete the project. The project consists of providing a Pipe Sample Preparation Facility as indicated on the drawings. The facility shall include (1) certain casework, shelving, ceiling, etc; (2) a self-contained fire protection system; (3)new plumbing equipment and associated hot water, cold water, waste, vent and RO water. Systems will be extended from the main building; (4) a self-contained wall mounted, DX, heat pump system; (5) electric bus connection in main building, new panel in new building and all lights, wiring devices, conduit and wiring. This project also consists of Alternates: (A-1) for interlocking rubber floor tiles over entire floor; (A-2) for a permanent aluminum ramp & handrail and dock infill as indicated on drawings; (A-3) for removal of rust; prime and paint at dock stairs, canopy, handrails and dock accessories; (A-4) for removal of rust; prime and paint at gas main and meter piping; (A-5) for providing O.D.O.T. steel beam guard rail - type 5 with tubular backup as indicated on drawings; (FP-1) for a dry pipe sprinkler system for new building. Piping to be extended underground from MPIN building; (FP-2) for a clean agent extinguishing system (similar to Inegen) including all tanks, valves, heads, piping etc. All equipment to be loaded in new building. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated. Contract award will be made using best value methodology. Two evaluation factors will be used: Past Performance and Price. The evaluation factors will be approximately equal in importance. The anticipated contract performance period is 12 months after receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated price of the work is between $100,000 and $250,000. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the Agency. All prospective offerors are required to be registered in the Central Contractor Registration system in order to be eligible for contract award. The solicitation with specifications, drawings, and site visit information, will be released through the internet on the fedbizopps website page at www.fedbizopps.gov. The anticipated solicitation release date is approximately December 21, 2006. No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided.
