Description
PROVIDE SERVICES OF A QUALIFIED MARINE TURBINE GENERATOR SPECIALIST, LABOR PERSONNEL, TOOLS, MATERIAL AND APPROVED TEST EQUIPMENT FOR THE FOLLOWING SCOPE OF WORK: A. SCOPE OF WORK 1. Rack out, mechanically clean, test, and adjust the 8 air circuit breakers manufacturer?s specifications and reinstall. Submit an ?As found? and ?As built? condition report for each breaker. 2. Cleaning, testing and inspection of the Main and Emergency Switchboards. Tighten all bus bars, lug connections, terminals, relays, trips and contact points. Torque bus bars and lug connections to the specifications in NAVSEA Manual 0962-LP-012-1000 and 0962-LP-024-0010. Identify corroded fasteners and hardware requiring replacement. Submit an ?As found? and ?As built? condition report with test measurements. 3. Cleaning, testing and inspection of the Shore Power Switchboard. Tighten all bus bars, lug connections, terminals, relays, trips and contact points. Torque bus bars and lug connections to the specifications in NAVSEA Technical Manual. Clean all internal components using approved electrical cleaning solvent. Submit an ?As found? and ?As built? condition report with test measurements. Insulation resistance readings will be performed prior to and at the completion prior to re-energizing. Test the shore power receptacle cover trip circuit. 4. Cleaning, testing and inspection of the Group Controller Centers. Tighten and torque all bus bars, lug connections, terminals, relays, trips and contact points. Clean all internal components using approved electrical cleaning solvent. Submit an ?As found? and ?As built? condition report with test measurements. Insulation resistance readings will be performed prior to and at the completion prior to re-energizing. 5. Replace the #1 and #2 SSTG slip ring collector assemblies. The rotor is to be removed from the stator to perform this task. Upon lite off, check and stone the slip rings to achieve less than 0.001 total indicator run out. (TIR). 6. When the generator rotors are out of #1 and #2 SSTG?s, conduct in-place cleaning, inspection and testing of the generator rotor and stator windings as follows: a. Coil Resistance Test for imbalance between phases. b. Megohm Test for insulation resistance and grounds. c. Surge Comparison Test for turn-to-turn shorts using Advance Winding Analyzer, Baker AWA Test Set. d. Air gap measurements. Provide condition report with test measurements to the MSCREP within twenty-four (24) hours after Completion of tests and inspections. Notify the MSCREP immediately upon identification of any reading or observance not in accordance with industry standards. For any failed test, do not proceed with subsequent tests until instructed to do so by the MSCREP. Perform an ?As found? test, prior to cleaning and an ?As built? during assembly. 7. Main Propulsion Turbines a. Conduct a Video Bore Scope Inspection of the HP and LP steam turbines in the presence of the attending ABS surveyor and MSCREP. b. Remove and inspect all HP and LP turbines. Measure and record journal bearing clearances. Measure thrust clearances in the ahead and astern positions. c. Remove and inspect HP and LP high speed couplings. Mark coupling position. Mark position of all coupling bolts. Measure and record radial backlash and coupling spool axial float. d. Measure and record the HP and LP turbine to reduction gear alignment. Submit a report of alignment readings to the ABS surveyor and MSCREP. e. Inspect LP steam path element thru LP hood manholes in the presence of the attending ABS surveyor and MSCREP. f. Open and inspect the HP turbine steam inlet nozzle control valves and operating gear assembly. Visually inspect steam chest internals and valve assembly for any abnormal wear, cracks or other problem areas. Dye check valve seat welds. Check tack welds and tightness of all nuts. Check clearances of lifting bar and valve timing. g. Prepare and submit a consolidated report to MSC Port Engineer outlining all findings, tolerances and repairs accomplished. 8. Main Reduction Gear Disassemble the main reduction gear to the extent necessary to accomplish the following inspections in accordance with Technical Manual 0341-LP-137-8000, Propulsion Turbines Reduction Gear and Associated Equipment. All inspection is to be in the presence of ABS surveyor and MSCREP. a. Inspect gear teeth for damage, unusual wear patterns and raised metal. b. Record the main thrust using Technical Manual 0940-LP-009-6010, Propulsion Turbines Reduction Gear and Associated Equipment as guidance. Submit an ?as-found? condition report of thrust readings. c. Disassemble, clean and inspect the main thrust bearing components for wear and defects. Lay out the active side thrust shoes for inspection by ABS and MSCREP. d. Reassemble the main thrust bearing using Technical Manual 0940-LP-009-6010, Propulsion Turbines Reduction Gear and Associated Equipment as guidance. e. Prepare and submit a consolidated report to MSC Port Engineer outlining all findings, tolerances and repairs accomplished. 9. References: 1) NAVSEA MANUAL 0962-LP-012-1000 SWITCHBOARD 2) NAVSEA MANUAL 0962-LP-024-0010 SWITCHBOARD 3) NAVSEA MANUAL 0940-LP-009-6010, PROPULSION TURBINES REDUCTION GEAR AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT 4) NAVSEA MANUAL 0341-LP-137-8000, PROPULSION TURBINES REDUCTION GEAR AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT. B. Required Documents: 1. Provide a preliminary trip report and brief the Chief Engineer and Port Engineer prior to leaving the vessel on all findings. Provide an electronic final type written report with required drawings forwarded to the Contracting Officer, Chief Engineer and the Port Engineer.
